Learning outcomes

  • Scope an operations audit with clear product, period, and system boundaries.
  • Build a control-to-workflow map covering onboarding, settlements, and incidents.
  • Design a sampling plan with retention rules a colleague can rerun.
  • Grade issues with severity language suitable for board packs.
  • Run a remediation tracker that survives the week after the closing meeting.

Modules

Module 1 — Audit season design

Calendar mapping, stakeholder map, and the difference between internal health checks and external diligence.

Module 2 — Control inventory that matches reality

Extract controls from policy, then validate them against queues, tickets, and system logs.

Module 3 — Sampling and evidence packs

Sample sizes, bias traps, and folder structures that do not collapse when someone is on leave.

Module 4 — Issue grading

Customer impact, capital exposure, and recurrence — without inflating every finding to “critical.”

Module 5 — Remediation tracking

Owners, dates, verification steps, and how to reopen items that fail retest.

Module 6 — Board rehearsal

Nine-slide narrative, Q&A drills, and what to leave in the appendix.

Reviews from this course

Module 3’s evidence matrix is the reason our partner review did not request a second sample pull. The cadence is demanding in weeks four and five.

Strong on payments. Lending examples appear later and felt thinner — still usable after we adapted the sampling sheet.

FAQ

Who is this for?

Operations managers, compliance leads, and internal audit partners who own or support risk governance audits for fintech operations.

Is this a certification?

No. You receive a completion letter describing the artifacts you produced. We do not sell a regulated certification mark.

What is a real limitation of this course?

We do not replace your external auditor or legal counsel. The Practitioner Path will not interpret firm-specific licensing conditions; those require your advisors. We also do not provide ready-made opinions on open regulatory inquiries.

How much time should I reserve weekly?

Plan for five to seven hours including the live clinic. Weeks with evidence-pack assignments lean heavier.
